LeonLeon Wijohn  - Te Rarawa, Ngāi Tāhoe, Ngāti Tahu-Ngāti Whaoa /  Partner, Accounting and Advisory

Leon’s interest lies in two business sectors - SME growth and Māori business development.

When working with SME businesses (small-to-medium-sized business), Leon enjoys putting in place good financial reporting systems, policies and procedures and then helping those businesses develop and grow.

Leon has a track record of helping Māori develop and prosper through innovative successful collaborations.  As Deloitte’s Māori Sector Leader, Leon is very keen to make sure that Deloitte build’s long term relationships with Māori   that result in meaningful tangible outcomes for their whanau, hapu and/or iwi.   

Leon has over 20 years accounting and business experience.  Leon is currently a director of Te Waka Pupuri Putea Limited, the commercial arm of Te Rarawa and he has held many directorships and governance roles.  Leon has had a number of change management positions including acting as CEO for the Ngati Whatua o Orakei.

MarkMark Lash - Ngai Tahu  /  Associate Director, Taxation

Mark leads the Māori  tax advisory team for Deloitte and is involved in the delivery of tax advice to all Deloitte Māori clients.  Mark has degrees in both Law and Accountancy and over 13 years tax business experience, and over 10 years’ experience in providing tax advice to Māori organisations on settlement and post settlement structures and tax issues. Mark has been recently asked to accept an appointment to the Māori Education Trust - Finance Audit and Risk Committee and contributes to the FoMA panui on Māori tax issues and the Dominion Post on general tax issues.
