Rising Stars
Details of the 2011 Deloitte Fast 50 including the Rising Star winners will be available here on the evening of 9 November 2011 once they are announced.
Deloitte and New Zealand Trade & Enterprise are searching for the next generation of Deloitte Fast 50 businesses. These five national Rising Star awards are for businesses that do not qualify for the 2011 Deloitte Fast 50, but are designed to recognise early-stage, innovative, high potential companies.

All entrants:
- Receive a free growth strategy review with one of Deloitte's business growth experts.
- Get an invitation to attend the regional Deloitte Fast 50 awards on 9 November 2011.
By being name a Rising Star, you:
- The top ranked business receives entry into NZTE's flagship Beachheads Programme, giving the winner two years access to a network of Beachheads Advisors who are successful senior executives based in NZ and around the world.*
- Raise your business profile amongst the business community and attract interest from potential business partners and investors.
- Tap into unique networking opportunities with your peers and industry.
- Draw local and national media publicity.
- Use the Rising Star logo to help promote your success.
- Receive a guidance sheet from the judges with their top five tips for your business.
Entry criteria
- Have New Zealand registered operations.
- Have sold a product or service for financial return and produced at least one set year-end financial accounts.
- Must be in residence at a business incubator or been a graduate for no more than one year (i.e. a 30 June 2010 graduation date).
- Must have at least two full time equivalent people working in the business.
- Does not qualify for the 2011 Deloitte Fast 50 index.
What the judges will be looking for
A Rising Star must embody the spirit of the Deloitte Fast 50 programme which is focused on entrepreneurial, innovative businesses with fast growing revenue. Accordingly, the winners will be judged on:
- The positioning of the venture to real revenue opportunities.
- The size and realistic opportunity of the next three-year revenue forecasts.
- The ability of the venture to scale as it penetrates its market.
- Realistic ability to achieve their three year forecast.
- The quality of the team to achieve the business goals
