Experience

Denise is Deloitte’s National Technical Partner, responsible for the technical team, which advises Deloitte partners, staff and clients on a range of complex audit, accounting and financial reporting issues. In this role Denise provides accounting advice to a wide range of clients in a number of industries on a range of diverse transactions. Denise has presented a number of seminars on financial reporting topics.

Denise was formerly the deputy chairman of the Financial Reporting Standards Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand, the body previously responsible for developing New Zealand’s financial reporting standards including the New Zealand Equivalents to IFRS. She is also a former member of the Professional Practices Board of the Institute, the board which was responsible for the auditing and other professional engagements standards and the Institute’s code of ethics. In October 2008, Denise was made a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants in recognition of her services to the profession through her contribution to accounting standard setting in New Zealand and her service as a presenter at courses, seminars, special interest group meetings and conferences. Fellowships are conferred by the Institute each year for outstanding contribution to the accountancy profession and/or service to the community.
