Global Powers of Retailing 2008Standing out from the crowd |
The Global Powers of Retailing report identifies the 250 largest retailers around the world (measured by sales) and offers an overview of the fifty fastest growing companies worldwide. Furthermore it gives an overview of the challenges retailers encounter in this increasingly globalizing industry. The list is based on publicly available information of tax year 2007 (from 1 July 2006 to 30 June 2007).
For the first time ever, Chinese and Russian retailers have entered the Top 250 list. A total of six retailers from China and Russia, among which the Chinese Bailan Group and the Russian X5 Retail Group, have reached the Top 250. This can all be found in the Global Powers of Retailing 2008 report produced by Deloitte in conjunction with STORES magazine.
