KUALA LUMPUR, November 18, 2011:Tonight, in its 15th year of commencement, Small and Medium Enterprises Corporation Malaysia (SME Corp. Malaysia) and Deloitte Malaysia will honour the top 50 enterprises at the Enterprise 50 (E50) Award Programme 2011 Gala Dinner..
MITI Deputy Minister, Y.B. Dato’ Jacob Dungau Sagan will grace the Enterprise 50 Award Dinner. This Annual Event which is supported by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, is held,at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) where the E50 winners will be announced by rank and receive their awards.
E50 Award Programme 2011 is jointly organised by SME Corp. Malaysia and Deloitte Malaysia, with the support and sponsorship from RHB Bank Berhad, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), Celcom Axiata Berhad, Business Times, Media Prima Berhad and Malaysia SME.
Every year, E50 recognises 50 Malaysian SME companies with high-performance and most potential that are well-positioned for the future, while promoting greater pursuit of excellence amongst local enterprises.
Since its inception in 1997, the E50 Award Programme has been acknowledged by industries as the prestigious and coveted Award that symbolises achievements in business and entrepreneurship. The Award has been successful in promoting and showcasing competitive and resilient enterprises, capable of facing global challenges in the true entrepreneurial spirit. The Programme has since able to enhance the visibility of a company, especially those that have shown resilience to withstand the economic uncertainties.
“This year we have received a total of 83 nominations from various industries. Although the manufacturing industry is still the most dominant sector, the percentage of nominations received from this industry decreased slightly. However, there was a noticeable increase in the number of nominations received from advertising industry, and logistics,” said Dato’ Hafsah Hashim, Chief Executive Officer, SME Corp. Malaysia.
50 winners have been selected from amongst the nominations received and the evaluation is based on key qualitative and quantitative criteria. During the quantitative analysis, focus was placed on the company’s financial performance, particularly on their liquidity and leverage ratios. Qualitatively, aspects such as internal and external strategy, asset efficiency, expectations and resource alignment were evaluated. As the scores were tabulated, the results were then presented to the independent panel of judges who then finalised the ranking.

Companies that made it to the prestigious top 10 list are Matrix Flavours and Frangrances Sdn Bhd, Starkiss Food Corporation Sdn Bhd, Natural Health Farm Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd, Wellness Concept (M) Sdn Bhd, Walta Engineering Sdn Bhd, Intralink Techno Sdn Bhd, Exis Tech Sdn Bhd, Pacestar Industries SdnBhd, Yinpolin Agriculture Sdn Bhd, and Gateway Option Sdn Bhd.
