Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) addresses how a firm manages its business processes to generate stakeholder value while having a positive impact on the community and minimising any adverse impact on the environment. Professional behaviour is driven by our firm’s vision, mission and values. Deloitte (Malta) is contributing towards the community in a variety of ways. CSR activities for 2010 include:

Deloitte Malta Impact Day 2010
In March 2010 Deloitte staff once again volunteered their time and energy to the Foundation for Social Welfare Services – Agenzija Appogg and Qalb ta’ Gesu’. This was held in conjunction with four other companies – HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c., Simonds Farsons Cisk plc, Gasan Group of Companies, Tumas Group with the support of the Junior Chamber International and the Association of the Sovreign Military and Hospitaller Order of St John.
Lifecycle Challenge
Antoine Carabott – Assistant Manager and Mark Micallef – Senior 3 took part in the Betfair Lifecycle Challenge 2010 in August this year. Deloitte has kindly opted to choose the Gold sponsorship towards this cause.
Running the Marathon for Charity)
In March, the marathon was ran with the aim of collecting sponsorships which will be shared between The Eden Foundation and Caritas Drug Rehabilitation Centre.
Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
A session on Problematic Signs and Symptoms at the Workplace was organised for employees on 15 January 2010 by Caritas Malta.
Collection of Funds
The Reaching Out Committee collected a significant amount of money in aid of charity at the July 2010 Barbeque.
Dress Down Day
Monthly funds were collected from Dress Down Days.
Tghanniqa, Bormla
Toys, clothes and food were donated by Deloitte staff members to Tghanniqa, Bormla – an independent NGO run by volunteers who assist children coming from troubled families, having a very difficult life at home.
Inspire
Deloitte staff members participated in a teambuilding event organised by Inspire in November.
Blood Donation
A Blood Donation Drive was organised in December 2010 where Deloitte staff joined forces in this noble cause.
