Abstract
The organization is the Maintenance and Supply Agency, based in Luxembourg, for an international body. Its integrated logistics support software application is developed and maintained internally. This software application provides logistic support to communication system, to 600 end-users and 20 different installations outside Luxembourg.
Challenge
Our client wanted to establish a reliable quality system and to facilitate the management of its activities in order to achieve a maximum gain of efficiency in the above mentioned software production, maintenance and support.
Approach
Deloitte built a tailored approach for the software process assessment using the ISO/IEC TR 15504 standard (Software Process Improvement and Capability determination - SPICE) as well as its experience and best practices in the software engineering area.
Solution
- As a result of the assessment, key strengths and weaknesses of the current software process were identified. Based on these major findings and on the improvement objectives, 18 recommendations were proposed and accepted by the client, as well as a tentative implementation plan.
- Deloitte was later appointed to help our client implement recommendations for the improvement of the software.
