Deloitte art / collectibles & finance conference

“Innovation is the key to success.”
Thierry Hoeltgen, Partner Business Consulting Deloitte Luxembourg

Deloitte art and finance conference

‘Art’ / 'collectibles' and ‘finance’ are two sectors which would normally not be expected to be the topic of a single conference. However, the amount of interest shown in Deloitte’s first ‘Art & Finance’ conference in October 2008 in Luxembourg, and again in the second conference, held in October 2009 in London, indicates that investing in art and other collectible assets is a new niche market with enormous potential.

Deloitte explores the emergence of art and other collectible assets as new financial asset classes alongside traditional asset classes such as bonds, equities or real estate and gold.

Today, various elements let us believe that this trend should not be ignored and will impact the wealth management and investment management activities.

Deloitte aims to organise every year a conference on this subject in a different country. The conferences will address the business opportunities Art and Collectible assets could generate and facilitate an open forum for wealth management opportunities not only in terms of investments but also in terms of services associated to advisory and lending services.

Luxembourg is the second largest investment fund centre in the world behind the United States, the premier captive reinsurance market in the European Union and the premier private banking centre in the Eurozone. Luxembourg meets all of the necessary requirements to serve this new niche of financial activities.
