At the end of 2006, the government adopted a national plan to develop a health care ICT (Information, Communication and Technology) system for Luxembourg, in collaboration with CRP Henri Tudor. It intends to improve the quality and efficiency of health care systems, through infrastructure investments and the implementation of an information system adapted to local needs.
Under the new health care organisation, all information related to the patients’ health state will be electronically stored. The overall objectives are to facilitate the access to treatments, to minimize prescriptions’ risks and to reduce administrative procedures and costs.
The program eSanté consists currently of three projects:
