Corporate social responsibility

The ESR (Entreprise Socialement Responsable) label is one of the most advanced and comprehensive CSR labels in Europe. It helps to initiate a continuous improvement approach by providing concrete examples and proposing clear action plans. It supports organisations in building a competitive advantage through alignment on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) market trends and good practices, notably in terms of governance and stakeholder management.

As a communication and marketing tool, the label enhances brand visibility and reputation. It also provides public testimony of CSR actions conducted by the company/organisation.

This label is an initiative of the UEL and has been developed by the INDR in close collaboration with Deloitte.

Challenges

Companies are not only under pressure to excel in their core business but are increasingly required by the public and by law to show a certain level of corporate responsibility.

  • Building a competitive advantage through effective CSR management
  • Publicly aligning with organisations that have already obtained the label and use it in all internal and external campaigns such as CHL, Dussmann Group, BGL BNP Paribas, Caceis, Cetrel, Leaseplan, Siemens, Sodexo
  • Making public the organisation’s CSR efforts and actions with limited cost and effort
  • Building and securing a high brand image and reputation
  • Enhancing the company’s ability to attract and retain critical talent
  • Maintaining good relationships with main stakeholders (e.g. shareholders, clients, employees, unions)
