Ms. Arianne Levene, Founder – New Art World Ltd., London
Since completing a Masters in Contemporary Art at the Courtauld Institute, Arianne Levene has worked within the art world, most notably at Sotheby’s, UBS and for Lord Jacob Rothschild.
In 2005 she set up her own art consultancy, New Art World, advising major collectors on International Contemporary Art with a special focus on Art from Asia.
In 2007 she curated “Face East: Contemporary Asian Portraiture” in London which included the work of 6 important contemporary Indian, Pakistani and Chinese Artists (Bharti Kher – Pushpamala - Rashid Rana - Riyas Komu - Thukral & Tagra - Zhang Peng).
In 2009 she curated “Made in Iran” at Asia House in London, a group show of work by 7 young contemporary artists all living and working in the modern Islamic republic of Iran.
In 2010 she curated “Rashid Rana: Paradoxe Perpetuelle” an major exhibition of works by the leading contemporary Pakistani artist Rashid Rana at the Musee Guimet in Paris (July - November 2010).
Most recently she curated “Highlights from the Wigertz Collection” including works by Zhang Xiaogang (China), AiWeiwei (China), Walid Raad (Lebanon), Rashid Rana (Pakistan), Diana Al Hadid (Syria), Ahmed Alsoudani (Iraq) and Subodh Gupta (India) at Birger Jarlspassagen (this show will run until November 2011).
