Alain is a directeur within the tax department and is specialised in tax advice for financial services clients (funds, banks, insurance companies). He is focused on investment funds (in particular real estate investment funds, as well as Shariah-compliant investment funds) and operational tax matters (in particular the EU Savings Directive, ECJ Court non-discrimination court cases in the withholding tax area).
Alain is a member of the ALFI Middle East working group and has an Islamic finance qualification.
Before joining Deloitte Luxembourg, Alain worked for Deloitte Antwerp and Brussels, PricewaterhouseCoopers Brussels and Coopers & Lybrand Antwerp and Brussels.
Alain is a lawyer, graduated from the Free University of Brussels (Brussels, Belgium), with a specialisation in tax law.
He is fluent in Dutch, English and French.
