Vafa is partner within the national office and joined Deloitte in 1983 as a junior auditor. He was admitted to the partnership in 1993, serving audit clients in the banking industry.
In 1994, he launched Deloitte’s ERS practice and from 2000 he leads Deloitte's forensics and anti-money laundering practices while continuing to serve audit clients in the financial sector and supporting the audit practice as national practice directeur. He was appointed risk and reputation leader in 2005, taking ultimate responsibility for the firm’s risk management function, leading the national office which groups the firm compliance, independence and risk management functions together.
He is a member of Deloitte Luxembourg's Executive Committee.
Vafa is a registered auditor (Réviseur d’entreprises agréé) and has a commercial engineering degree from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Louvain, Belgium).
He is fluent in French and English.
