Sustainability reporting and sustainable development - 24/04/2012DOWNLOAD |
Sustainability reporting and sustainable development involve the transparent disclosure about social and environmental impacts of business activities that are consistently managed in the best interest of our planet and its inhabitants.
Seven Deloitte Luxembourg staff members, from different service lines have successfully completed their Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) certified training programme and received their official certificates from GRI.
Deloitte has developed its sustainability offering in Luxembourg with a multi-disciplinary task force that is able to help organisations with the preparation and review of their GRI reports in accordance with their sustainability strategy and the GRI framework.
“We are very happy that our multi-disciplinary team of Corporate Social Responsibility professionals has successfully completed the GRI Certified Training Programme. This new achievement exemplifies the strong commitment and involvement of our experts in the field of sustainable development” explained Laurent Berliner, Enterprise Risk Services Partner.
For those engaged in enhancing transparency and adding credibility to their business, sustainability reporting (or otherwise called CSR on non-financial reporting) should have the necessary substance, focus on the right core indicators, address the stakeholders’ expectations and be supported by solid data governance.
“Sustainability reporting is an increasingly important concern for companies.” Assurance Partner Nicolas Hennebert warns. “More and more financial institutions, States, or market players, take into account extra-financial performance into their investment and lending decision-making processes; sustainability reports must be accurate, relevant and meet the requirements of a solid and widely accepted framework.”
The ‘roadmap to assurance’ service created by Deloitte is a structured step-by-step approach that helps define and embed sustainable reporting process in your business strategy.
