27 training courses on the most promising investment management topics

The new Link'n Learn programme offers a wide spectrum of people the chance to participate in training sessions with Deloitte’s experts on 27 of the most promising topics in the investment management industry. These interactive webinars can be accessed by everyone simply by logging on to the Deloitte website.

Over the course of the Link'n Learn training sessions in 2010, run by Deloitte Luxembourg’s experts, witnessed over 4,000 logins at the time of the course, and more than twice that number to view the recordings. Today, the Link'n Learn’s success is worldwide.

In 2011, these webinars saw over 10,000 logins at the time of the course, with almost 150 companies from over 30 countries taking part.

The 2012 schedule comprises 27 training courses on current topics in the investment management industry, among them: ‘Evolution of the custody framework’, ‘MiFID II’, ‘Risk Management within UCITS IV’ and ‘Wealth management structuring using Luxembourg regulated vehicles.’

The next session on the topic ‘Introduction to Undertakings for Collective Investments’ will take place on 12 January 2012 from 5.00-6.00 p.m. (CET).

Accessing the conferences couldn’t be easier

After logging on to the Deloitte website, participants and trainers alike share the same visual display interactively, with trainers answering questions asked by participants directly via the chat feature. Just like a real seminar, participants are asked their opinion through surveys. Free access to a recorded version of the session is then offered on the Deloitte website.

A look back at the origins of Link'n Learn

Vincent Gouverneur“At Deloitte, we have always endeavoured to continuously develop our employees’ knowledge. Changes in the regulatory and fiscal environment have never come as quickly as they are now. We consider that it is our duty, as the largest consulting company in Luxembourg, to enable all those working in the financial marketplace to receive training free of charge so as to better adapt to this raft of changes” explains Vincent Gouverneur, a Deloitte partner.

“As such in 2009, when I was appointed Leader of Investment Management for the Europe, Middle-East & Africa region, we began offering training courses to our clients at around midday, known as Lunch ’n Learn. I decided to offer these same training courses as webinars, so that our employees and clients working in this industry throughout the world could also make the most of our knowledge. It was immediately successful and the feedback from our clients has been excellent” he continues.

Yves Lejeune, Head of Client Relationship Management for Fund Distribution Services at the Société Générale Securities Services, states:

Yves Lejeune“The constant developments that underlie the fund industry both nationally and internationally mean that the players in it must regularly update their knowledge. In our industry, it is vital to train with experts continuously.

For the past two years, I have been taking part in the Lunch ’n Learn initiative, while some of my colleagues outside the Grand Duchy regularly take part in Link ’n Learn sessions. I think that through this concept, Deloitte has found the winning recipe for a great cocktail, bringing together up-to-date information on current topics given by high-quality speakers, an effective format that can be easily transmitted internally, coupled with the opportunity for dialogue with other players in the marketplace. These training courses provide a means of quickly and practically getting to grips with all the opportunities and restrictions linked to the latest regulatory and economic topics that affect the market.”
