Deloitte Luxembourg awarded the Actions Positives accreditation by the Ministère de l’Egalité des Chances | Press release

Deloitte Luxembourg recently obtained the Actions Positives accreditation, becoming one of the first professional service providers on the market place to obtain this certification.

The Action Positive accreditation, delivered by the Ministère de l’Egalité des Chances, is a set of measures seeking to establish equality between women and men in all working aspects and conditions. Furthermore, the Ministry has accorded a financial subvention in relation to the Action Positives.

Deloitte S.A. has been involved in this project since 16 September 2009, having signed a convention with the Ministère de l’Egalité des Chances to launch the Action Positives process.

A mixed group, composed of 15 employees representing all service lines and led by Sophie Mitchell, audit partner at Deloitte Luxembourg, focused on 3 main themes, with various sub-categories, in order to identify the various points of interest concerning the Action Positives:

  • Equal treatment of women and men (recruitment, trainings and qualification, salary, retention, etc.)
  • Equality of women and men in decision-making (career, participation, etc.)
  • Equality between women and men in conciliating professional and private life (organisation of maternity and parental leaves, improvement of working conditions, work/life balance, etc.)

The objective of the Action Positives plan, developed on the basis of a survey conducted in December 2009, was to promote opportunities to succeed in a fair and diversified environment, and to provide flexibility to develop each individual’s career. This plan was presented to the Ministère de l’Egalité des Chances on 20 May 2010.

According to Mrs Mitchell, “We insist on the importance we attach to gender equality. Through this accreditation, the Ministry strongly supports our project and acknowledges the actions already accomplished. We are aware that there is still room for improvement in this area but our will is to act firmly and clearly.”
