Along with the Ethical Principles, of which one is "responsibility to society", these values define the way business is done in every Deloitte member firm all over the world. We are confident that this approach will foster our success over the long term.
Corporate responsibility is also the foundation of all our activities in Lithuania. This comes not only from the global commitment, but also from our strong belief that as an influential member of Lithuanian society we can make a positive impact to its economic and social structures.
We demonstrate this by our responsible behavior in four main areas:
- Relations with our employees;
- Relations with the business environment;
- Relations with the communities around us;
- Environmentally sustainable operations.
Relations with our employees
People are our greatest and most valuable asset. Therefore we assure them not only the basics of a good social environment such as fair and timely remuneration, social insurance, healthy & safe working conditions, equal rights & fair treatment, but we are also committed to their additional development through:
- Promoting a continuous development culture: we provide and support various learning programs both inside and outside the company as well as many online training courses on different subjects.
- Taking additional care of our employees’ health: we provide them with the private medical insurance and support their sports activities.
Relations with the business environment
As an important member of the Lithuanian business community, we operate as a thought leader and in a ,manner that sets an example to the business community as a whole. We provide the highest quality professional services to our clients and we take ethics, integrity and fair business practice very seriously. This approach is the fundamental part of our business culture and everything we do.
We are constantly looking for ways to improve the Lithuanian business environment. We share our knowledge and ideas and we are active members in the following organizations:
- Investors Forum;
- British Chamber of Commerce;
- Norwegian Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce;
- Danish Chamber of Commerce;
- Sunrise Committee.
Relations with the communities around us
We strongly believe that the education and development of people is one of the key factors in Lithuania’s economic, scientific and social development. Therefore, we strive to increase co-operation between the business and academic sectors and help people excel.
As part of this responsibility to the community, we are a sponsor and partner of the National Award of Advancement. We are also actively involved with the universities in Lithuania by sharing our knowledge and supporting various initiatives for students.
We are also interested in the development of other community activities and have been:
- Long term sponsors of the Lithuanian Football Federation;
- Partners of the book charity event organized by the non-profit organization “Permainų spektras”;
- Partners of the Easter charity event organized by the non-profit organization “Pastebėk mane”;
- Partners of the “Būkime kartu” event for children from foster homes organized by Vilnius International Club;
- Initiators of Sport Management Awards "Five Olympic rings".
Environmentally sustainable operations
We are an organisation that is very concerned about the environment in which we operate and about climate change and sustainability. We therefore try to minimize the adverse impact of our activities on the environment by:
- Using energy efficient equipment and technology in our workplace; and
- By using teleconferencing & videoconferencing and other meeting technologies which enhance meeting quality and reduce the need for travel;
- Joining the annual public cleaning up campaign Darom 2011.
