The global production for aluminum has significantly increased over recent years in light of the growing number of applications for the metal in real estate, automotive, aerospace, and industrial use. The anticipated growth of global aluminum production resides in China, Asia, and the Middle East, which are currently ramping up their production capacities in an effort to become net exporters of aluminum in the coming years. The UAE, Oman, Bahrain, and Qatar are all home to some of the largest smelters in the world.
A strong and growing primary aluminum industry in the GCC will foster the growth of a healthy downstream aluminum industry that will enhance the region’s global market share in full stream end-to-end aluminum production.
