Seminar: Corporate Governance and Global Competition in Financial Markets
Corporate governance, which is the way an organization is managed and controlled, is increasingly significant in Kazakhstan and throughout the world as it is vital for securing the agreement and confidence of company stakeholders and helps to reduce the possibility of an organization collapsing due to mismanagement. As this topic is so important at the moment, Deloitte held a seminar on "Corporate Governance and Global Competition in Financial Markets” in partnership with Kazakhstan Stock Exchange JSC on 22 May 2012 in Almaty.
During the seminar, the following issues were discussed:
- Kazakhstan company IPOs: corporate governance requirements at a national and international level
- Disclosure: optional or necessary?
- Development of corporate governance: the main challenges for companies in Kazakhstan
- The role of stock exchanges in establishing corporate governance standards: presentation of the report at a OECD Roundtable.
The seminar was attended by 60 people, and feedback on the event was very positive: attendees gave the seminar an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 for customer satisfaction.
