‘Love is sharing’ activities by each division

Time/Place: December- January / Throughout the country

'Love is sharing' activities have been taking place with each division of Deloitte.

These various activities are coordinated by our 'CSR Committee (Corporate Social Responsibility)', consisting of representatives from each division.

At the end of this year, it's the great chance to much more people can participate on various activities because each division planned the activities by their own depending on their schedule and opinion so can contribute more hands to neighbors around us.

Beneath are detailed explanation of the activities, and the website will be updated after every volunteering event.

5 December (Wednesday) / Dae-gu branch

All employees of Dae-gu branch donated to 'Community Chest of Korea, Fruit of Love' for disadvantaged groups on 5 December (Wednesday). Dae-gu branch has been doing on notable contribution to charity on every month for sharing love with neighbors.

8 December (Wednesday) / Gwang-ju branch

People of Gwang-ju branch donated the necessities of life such as rice, wastepaper, and detergent to the Hye-Rim Welfare Foundation and contributed their time to clean and prepare Kimchi for winter. Gwang-ju branch is going on lots of activities for neighbors such as cleaning, providing bathing aids, and participating in various programs which are held at welfare centers.

14 December (Friday) / Administration

On 14 December (Friday), including Seung Woo Yang, Country Managing Partner, 27 volunteers from Administration Division participated to 'Volunteer Santa' group which managed by Yeoungdeungpo Social Welfare Center. They visited to ten places for the elderly who live alone or who live with only children, and then, delivered Kimchi and the necessities and had a great time to talk to each other. 1 team consisted of 2~3 persons and dressed as Santa Claus so each participant had a practical experience. Participants had a meaningful time with neighbors and colleagues.

21 December (Friday) / Tax & Financial Advisory Service

Tax and FAS teams went together to help other neighbor with their hearts and loves. One of groups from TAX & FAS visited to the welfare center for dementia elderly and poorest families and contributed the effort by giving television and coal briquettes, assisting elderly with meal time, and massage. The other group donated the program fee for the Art Therapy and outdoor activities to another elderly welfare center; in addition, they contributed books to Jongno Social Welfare Center for low-income family and single parent family. Young Ja Song, Manager of Tax team said, "It was the great chance to share love with neighbor but we just had a short time with them so we regret to say goodbye. We are willing to have other chances to have a great time with them again in the future."

23 December (Sunday) / Audit 3

Volunteers from Audit 3 team participated on the 'Secret Santa Claus Project in 2007' which organized by Korea Dream Youth Foundation. For Christmas seasons, volunteers who participate on the project visit to children of low-income family and give a gift and had a fun time with children. Their parents only got a notice about their visiting time and volunteers performed the simple magic and caroled in front of children. Volunteers also gave a gift and celebrated Christmas with cake and prayed in their mind. Sang Hwa Lee, Accountant of Audit 3, said "Children were very happy when they got a gift and they promised with little finger to volunteers dressed as Santa Claus."

27 December (Thursday) / Deloitte Consulting

On 27 December (Thursday), including Jae Sool Lee, Managing Partner, staffs from Consulting visited to 'Migrant Worker's House' which located in Guro area. They helped to prepare the distribution of free meals for around 110 Chinese people who are over 65 years old with no job or having a temporary job and they also cleaned the rooms and shelters. Jae Sool Lee said that we joined the various activities and tried to spend the meaningful time with neighbor and also appreciated for the center's steady efforts.

29 December (Saturday) / Audit 5

17 volunteers from Audit 5 team spent the valuable time at 'Amsa Rehabilitation Center' which located in Kangdong-gu Amsa-dong. They donated money for disabled children's medical treatment and cleaned the rooms, assisted elderly with meal time, and handed cookies and fruits for children. Min Geun Jung, Partner of Audit 5 said, "I was worried that I don't know the way to help them before I visited but when I met with children, they hold my hands in advance and opened their mind. During the time, I did steam vacuum by my own and explained what accountant do to one of children."

29 December (Saturday) / Audit 4

Audit 4 team had a volunteer activity at 'Food Market for Love' which managed by Youngdeungpo-gu Social Welfare. They donated money for neighbor and visited to the first and second branch of 'Food Market for Love' which are located in Shingil and Youngdeungpo. They helped loading products, packing boxes, and repacking ten sacks of rice in the market; after that, they delivered items to neighbor's home and also had a precious time with elderly who lived alone.

29 December (Saturday) / Japanese Services Group

Including Jae Bong Ko, Partner, 24 volunteers from Japanese Services Group had a valuable time with neighbors. They got assistance from 'Love Coal Association' and visited to Guryong Village of Kangnam-gu area to deliver coal briquettes to residents. Min Kyung Kim, Staff of JSG said, "I've hardly every seen the coal briquettes since I grew up but it has been still using for many neighbors. I delivered it very carefully like holding a crystal doll because I didn't want to waste any piece of coal briquettes. The freezing weather in the morning turned to warm our hearts after the activity was done. The activity for sharing love gave the memorable experience to me."
