On May 25th 2009, the Israel Securities Authority has published the Draft Securities Regulation (Interim and Immediate reports) (corrected), regarding the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting and disclosures.
Pursuant to this regulation, the CEO and CFO of every publicly traded company in Israel will be required to certify on the effectiveness of the disclosure controls and procedures that have been established by the company in order to disclose accurate and reliable financial information in its financial reporting.
The Israeli Securities Authority has defined clear milestones for graduated compliance with the I-SOX some of which should be completed by end year of 2009.
We at Deloitte have a sustainable methodology for the implementation of the I-SOX based on our Sarbanes Oxley readiness and compliance methodology and experience and can help Israeli companies with a timely and efficient compliance with the I-SOX regulation.
