Data Analysis |
Using our extensive knowledge of data analysis tools, we are able to examine large volumes of electronic information effectively. Summarisation and analysis of the data is typically first used to identify areas for further investigation or to highlight apparent anomalies. Complex calculations can be rechecked for the entire population and not just on a sample basis. Data can also be cross checked against other sources or compared internally within a file.
Payroll and accounts payable are typical areas where clients often have concerns about control weaknesses. Examples of the type of anomalies we might search for include:
-
Duplicate employees
-
Employees set up as vendors
-
Duplicate vendor payments
-
Payments to dormant vendor accounts
-
Invalid VAT numbers
