The Deloitte CFO Survey is the only survey to garner the views of CFOs of major Irish based companies in relation to financial markets, economic outlook and business trends on a quarterly basis.

Quarter 1 2012 was a busy start to the year. Although uncertainty in the Eurozone is still an issue the survey findings show that optimism amongst CFOs has reached its highest point in a year. The findings also show that CFO sentiment on the performance of the Government is generally positive. However, CFOs are more pessimistic in relation to the cost and availability of credit.
Key highlights from this quarter’s survey include:
- 53% think that the Government has had a positive impact overall on fiscal and economic matters
- 33% are optimistic about their company's financial future
- 44% state their company has already returned to growth
- 17% net perception of company's financial prospects have risen from net 7% to net 17% in the last quarter
