Deloitte hosts top university talent at International Student Business Forum

Six Irish students hone key business skills at international forum in Athens

Seventy members of the next generation of business leaders, including six Irish students, gathered in Athens, Greece from 15-19 March for the 6th annual International Student Business Forum (ISBF), an international career and leadership development programme for top talented university students from around the world, sponsored by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL).

The Irish student delegation included:

  • Padraig O’Connor from Limerick, studying Economics and Finance at University College Dublin
  • Aideen Fennell from Kildare, studying Business Economics and Social Studies at Trinity College Dublin
  • Susan O’Connor from Caherciveen, Kerry, studying Business Studies at University of Limerick
  • Liam O’Regan from Blarney, Cork, studying Accounting at University College Cork
  • Ted Nyhan from Tullamore, Offaly, studying Economics at Trinity College Dublin
  • Cathy Basquel from Knocklyon, Dublin, studying Commerce at University College Dublin

ISBF gathers high-potential students who are one to two years away from graduating to work in cross cultural teams, under the guidance of Deloitte member firm professionals, on realistic business challenges in order to hone critical professional skills including: cross-cultural teamwork, effective communication, leadership, and building and maintaining global networks.

This year’s ISBF participants were selected from more than 4,500 applicants. In addition to the Irish delegates, participants hailed from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Norway, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, the Ukraine, and the United States.
