Michael is the partner in charge of the Investment Management Practice in Ireland.

He is an audit partner working with Deloitte for over 13 years and within investment management exclusively for the last 6 years.

Michael provides audits to a wide range of funds including Irish fund structures both UCITS and Non-UCITS and off shore funds.

He was recently elected to the Council of the IFIA and is currently a member of the Irish Funds Industry Association (IFIA) and previously was a member of Alternative Investments Committee and represents the firm at Dublin meetings of AIMA.  Current and previous clients include, Altima Partners, Blackrock, National Bank of Canada, Odey, TT International and Stone Harbor

Brian Forrester

Brian has been an audit partner in the Financial Services audit group in Dublin, Ireland since 2008. Brian’s primary expertise is in the delivery of internal and external audit services to Investment Funds, SPV’s and various service providers in the Asset Management area, including Investment Managers, Administrators, Brokers and Custodians.

Brian has a particular focus on operational risk, and has worked with a number of administrators reviewing their whole organisation processes, identifying risk areas and implementing process improvements and efficiencies.

Brian has also worked on a number of SAS 70 projects, in particular advising clients on pre-review readiness, to ensure operational process are sufficiently robust to achieve SAS 70 compliance. Current and previous clients include, BNP Paribas Entities, Hermes, Morgan Stanley Funds and Societe Generale Entities.

Pat Lardner

Pat Lardner is CEO of the Irish Funds Industry Association which represents close to 100 member firms with more than €2 trillion in assets under administration.

Pat attended UCD gaining a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and UCD’s Smurfit Graduate School of Business and graduated with a Master of Business Studies Degree in Financial Services.

Pat has a wealth of experience in industry starting in 1991 with Lloyds Private Banking. In 2005 he moved to Australia with Bank of Ireland Asset Management as a Regional Director with responsibility for Asia ex Japan.

In 2008 Pat was approached by Hastings Funds Management Limited to join the company as an Executive Director.

Cary Stier

Cary is the U.S. National Managing Partner for Deloitte’s Asset Management Services group, which serves the hedge fund, private equity, and mutual fund industries in matters involving audit, tax, consulting, and financial advisory services.

Prior to his election as National Managing Partner, Cary served as the Midwest Regional Leader for the Financial Services Audit practice and served as Midwest Regional Leader for the Asset Management Services group. He has served as lead partner for hedge fund, private equity, and mutual fund clients with more than $2 trillion in assets under management, collectively.

Cary was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Managed Funds Association in 2009 -2011 and currently serves on the Board of Hedge Funds Care.

Christian is an audit partner in Deloitte’s Financial Services practice. Christian specialises in the investment management sector working with a variety of asset managers and third party service providers.  Christian provides clients with additional advisory services in relation to valuation issues/principles, corporate structures and application of GAAP. Current and previous clients include, Goldman Sachs, BlackRock, Eaton Vance, RAB Capital, Galena Asset Management, Kairos Partners, Cheyne Asset Management, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Sector Asset Management and Diversified Credit Investments.

Christian has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, University College Dublin and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.

Ronan Daly

Ronan Daly (British), a resident of Ireland, is the Chairman and a founding partner of Centaur Fund Services Limited. Ronan is a non-executive director of a number of investment funds. Ronan qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1991 and qualified as a Barrister and Attorney in Bermuda in 1995. From 1994 to 2008, he held senior roles at Citi Hedge Fund Services, BISYS, Hemisphere Management and The Bank of Bermuda Limited. Ronan was educated at The University of Manchester and The College of Law, London. He worked at London law firm, Berwin Leighton, from 1989 to 1993. Ronan has spoken at many conferences and written extensively on the funds industry. He was involved in the IOSCO report on Principles for the Valuation of Hedge Fund Portfolios and the AIMA Guides on Sound Practices for Hedge Fund Valuations and for Offshore Alternative Fund Directors.

Kevin McGovern

Kevin is the leader of the Governance, Regulatory & Risk Strategies practice and a member of Deloitte’s Executive Committee. He focuses on providing regulatory compliance, operational, and technology consulting services and advice to organizations in the asset management industry, including investment management firms, mutual funds, transfer agents, banks, broker dealers, and insurance companies. Kevin has assisted many asset management firms nationally in designing and implementing operational systems, performing risk and internal control assessments over operations, and analyzing regulatory compliance needs.

In addition, Kevin has served as Deloitte’s Independent Consultant in connection with various SEC administrative activities, and he has assisted clients and their counsel in formulating responses to SEC investigations.

Sean Smith

Sean is a senior manager in the Enterprise Risk Services department of Deloitte providing regulatory advisory services to regulated firms including investment firms, investment business firms, asset managers, funds administrators, trustees/custodians and management companies. He assists firms with obtaining authorisation from the Central Bank and can provide ongoing regulatory and compliance support including assisting with regulatory inspections.

Sean has particular expertise in assisting firms meet their corporate governance and fitness and probity obligations and assessing board effectivesness. He also provides director training on various legal and regulatory topics and has significant experience in preparing directors for interview by the Central Bank.  
Sean is a member of the technical committee and anti-money laundering committee of the Association of Complaine Officers in Ireland.

Sean’s current and previous clients include, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, Citi, the IFIA and Invesco.

Deirdre is a tax partner who has more than ten years experience in advising financial services clients in the areas of investment management and funds, leasing, banking, securitisation and structured finance.  

Deirdre was a member of the Irish Funds Industry Association (IFIA) Council and ex Chair of the IFIA.  She is Head of the Deloitte Ireland Investment Management Advisory (IMA) Group. Deirdre was appointed to the Taoiseach’s (Prime Minister) Pan European Pension’s taskforce.  

She works with clients, service providers and asset managers, on all areas of their business including:

Jeannie is a Principal in Asset Management Services practice, Deloitte US.  She has over 20 years of experience and specializes in providing regulatory compliance, risk management, litigation support, and business advisory services to investment advisers, investment companies, service providers, financial intermediaries, hedge funds, and private equity firms.

Jeannie has also over 18 years experience with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, working in various capacities in both the Enforcement Division and in the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations. Most recently she was the Associate Regional Director in the Investment Management Examination Program, directing over 350 examinations of investment adviser, companies and transfer agents per year.

Jeannie has been a featured speaker for a number of national industry associations, where she has addressed significant regulatory matters.

Vince is a Partner in Deloitte’s Asset Management Services practice and currently serves as the U.S. Hedge Fund Tax Leader. Vince has worked in public accounting for more than 22 years and currently focuses his time assisting clients in the alternative asset investment space — hedge funds, venture capital funds, private equity funds, and real estate companies. He assists the funds with tax compliance and entity structuring, as well as the individual investment managers with their individual tax issues. During his career, he has also worked with a number of clients in other industries. Vince has worked with clients in the high tech industry, including chip manufacturing, equipment manufacturing, biotech, and software companies. His clients have included multinational and multistate companies.

David, a former Managing Director of Curach Consulting, has over 20 years of strategy and IT
consulting experience.

An Engineering graduate of Trinity College Dublin, David has previously worked with Accenture and headed its Strategic Service division in Ireland.

David was also the founder and CEO of HotOrigin Limited, a specialist investment and consulting firm. David’s extensive professional experience has allowed him to develop strong skills in the areas of business strategy development, designing and managing large scale business change programmes and leadership.

His clients include AIB, Certus, BNYM, VHI and Trinity College Dublin.

Adrian Beattie

Adrian manages the Citi Hedge Fund Administration Product Management team in EMEA. His key focus is on the management of the hedge fund client offering including all aspects of delivery and development.  In his 14 years in the industry Adrian has worked at a number of large firms in the US, UK and Ireland with previous roles in operations, sales, relationship and business management.

More recently Adrian was Head of Operations at The Children's Investment Fund Management (UK) LLP and returned to Ireland in mid- 2008 where he assumed his current role.

Karl is a Principal in the Asset Management Services practice, Deloitte US and has over sixteen years of experience developing and implementing solutions that address strategic, organizational, operational, regulatory, and technology business issues impacting asset management organizations. His primary focus is on developing and directing engagements to implement front, middle, and back office solutions for alternative and traditional investment advisers and their service providers. Karl is recognized for his process expertise and ability to develop solutions which address business requirements, governance and oversight responsibilities, operational efficiencies, risks, and controls.

Karl has also assisted hedge fund administrators establish and support global operating models, including a multi-year effort to integrate the business processes and technology of four acquired administration businesses.

Stuart is head of our Investment Management and Private Equity Internal Audit Practice. He has over 20 years experience in the Financial Services sector with extensive experience related to fund managers, ranging from internal audit to corporate governance best practice, in addition to traditional accounting and reporting.

Stuart has worked in Deloitte’s Denver and Chicago offices, leading the investment audit practice in Chicago. He has now relocated to London to serve the Man Funds in the role of Lead Client Service Partner.  

Stuart has led service delivery in an internal audit, statutory audit and advisory capacity to a wide range of complexes, including Morgan Stanley, Royal Bank of Canada, SVG  Man Group, Henderson Global Investors, Barclays Global Investors, and Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
