Quarter 4 2011 was an eventful close to an eventful year. Many issues in the Eurozone remain unresolved, the impacts of which continue to be felt. The findings show that while operating in an uncertain environment is now the norm for Irish CFOs, they have adjusted to this new reality, and are ensuring that their organisations do also.

Key highlights from this quarter’s survey include:

  • 33% of CFOs are more optimistic about the financial prospects of their company, compared to the last three months
  • 92% of CFOs state that the increase in VAT will have a negative impact on the economy
  • 85% of CFOs prefer national as opposed to European management of the national budget
