Deloitte CFO survey: Q2 2011Reality bites |
The Deloitte CFO Survey is the only survey to garner the views of CFOs of major Irish based companies in relation to financial markets, economic outlook and business trends on a quarterly basis.
Our survey results from Q2 2011 reveal that the buoyant mood reflected in Q1 2011 has dissipated somewhat.
According to the survey, as the reality of our economic situation becomes clear, chief financial officers recognise that a change in government is not an instant answer to the problems in Ireland, but rather it will take many months and years of effort to achieve economic stability.
Key highlights from this quarter’s survey include:
- CFOs have realigned their expectations on the ability of the new Government to affect change in a short period of time
- Exchange rate risk and market risk continue as key concerns this quarter
- CFOs were overwhelmingly positive on the state visits from HM Queen Elizabeth II and President Obama, and the potential benefits for FDI, tourism and the overall perception of Ireland abroad
