He has over 30 years experience working with public sector clients with particular focus over the past ten years on education clients. Gerard consequently has extensive experience in providing both internal and external audit services to the education sector

Mary Rose works closely with Gerard Lyons and is a leading member of the Deloitte Education team. Mary Rose has strong links with the global Deloitte Education network and with other education sector internal auditors in Ireland, New Zealand, UK and Scandinavia. Mary Rose has over 20 years of internal audit experience and for the past ten years has worked almost exclusively for the education sector, delivering internal audit, corporate governance and risk management services. Mary Rose has extensive knowledge of the education sector and has undertaken and managed many internal audit assignments such as review of examinations, review of strategic planning, life-long learning, academic quality, support structures for research and review of finance structures.

Brendan Jennings is an audit partner and is also the National Partner in charge of Audit Services for the Irish firm. He is responsible for the provision of professional services to a broad range of clients in both the private and public sector. Brendan has worked with clients in the education sector providing both audit and other advisory services.

Aidan is a tax partner and leads our Irish indirect TAX practice. Aidan has over 30 years experience in indirect taxes have spent 14 years working for the Revenue Commissioners as a VAT Inspector. His clients include public and private organisations and he has extensive experience in navigating clients through the complex VAT system, especially entities who cannot recover VAT. Aidan has been named in the list of world leading advisors in a legal media guide by the same name.

Shane is a consulting partner based in the Dublin office. His clients include government departments and offices, semi state companies, multi-national corporations, and public and private companies. Shane is head of our financial management consulting team and in over 17 years of consulting experience he has also undertaken a wide range of information technology, operations and strategic consulting assignments. Shane is also a member of the Deloitte Education team.

Ger has extensive experience working both with the public and private sector and he has also worked on a number of specific corporate finance projects with the higher education sector.
Michael Flynn

Michael is a corporate finance partner based in the Dublin office and leads the debt advisory and specialised finance practices in Ireland. In his role, Michael advises the public, private and banking sectors on project evaluation including cost benefit analysis and VFM testing, financing and procurement of infrastructure projects including public private partnerships. Michael has extensive experience in the education sector having advised on a number of projects. In 2009, Michael was appointed to the PPP Advisory board of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.
