6th Annual Motor Insurance Seminar

arrow signpostDeloitte Ireland hosted the 6th Annual Motor Insurance Seminar at the Conrad Hotel on 16 November 2010.

The event was well attended with representatives from major motor insurance companies and government agencies.

It was our pleasure to have Sergeant Jim McAllister of the Road Safety Unit, An Garda Síochána as our guest speaker. He highlighted the enforcement role of the Road Safety Unit and initiatives around driver training and commercial vehicle fleets which have been recently undertaken.

The second section, presented by Glenn Gillard, Audit Partner, Deloitte, was an interactive session during which the results of the recent industry survey were presented and an electronic voting session was held. This gave the attendees a chance to have a say on the current hot topics such as the effect of Solvency II on the motor market.

Dick Tulloch, Director, Actuarial Services, gave a detailed walk-though on the findings from Deloitte’s analysis of the 2009 Insurance Statistical Review. This includes past and current trading conditions, benchmarking of individual insurers and projection of 2010 Market Revenue Accounts.
