Mani Gotovac and Tatjana Divjak as guests to Deloitte's second SheXO Club

Women in Business - SheXO Club

Zagreb, 21st March 2013 – This Wednesday Deloitte organised its second SheXO Club, an event dedicated to successful women. The guests of this gathering were Mani Gotovac, a well-know theatrologist, dramaturg and writter, and Tatjana Divjak, a life and business coach. The total number of successful SheXOs at the gathering was again over 30.

The central topic was the concept i.e. importance of value and the contribution to the individual success of the participants. "As opposed to the previous meeting in which we addressed success in the context of work/life balance and external expectations, in this event we focused on the relationship between the value and achieving goals in various career fields considering various aspects of success and the fact that tangible benefits are not necessarily a measure of success", emphasised Marina Tonžetić, a Deloitte Audit Director.

Guest speakers Mani Gotovac and Tatjana Divjak involved the participants in a discussion by questioning the material and spiritual values, and highlighting fear as a limiting factor. The following question came up: “Do we dare live by our values?”. In addition, the guests emphasised the importance of the value arising from diversity as opposed to uniformity which is very often a today's requirement, either in terms of looks or opinions. Ultimately, both guest speakers agreed that the confusion could be resolved only if we were really aware of what was important for us and if we lived accordingly.

The key underlying idea was that we could turn into a happy and successful person only if we cherished our own values and lived by them. Our guest speakers agreed with the necessity to give up trying to live by others' expectations and underpinned the need to revere the values we believe in because only this would bring real fulfilment. "To achieve integrity, one must ask oneself every day what one's values are and live by those values", concluded Aida Kirlin, a Deloitte Business Advisory Service (BAS) Manager.

Think about what you find important in life. Live by it and revisit your priorities every day to see if they fit in with what you value and aspire to because this is what it takes to make you a successful and happy person.
