More than 120 people, including mayors and deputy mayors of some of the largest cities in the Adria region, participated in the Cities in Change - Deloitte Conference, held on 3rd February in Zagreb.
The conference was held under the high auspices of Mr. Stjepan Mesić, President of the Republic of Croatia, who opened the event stressing out in his opening speech the importance of the development of cities in national economies.
Vladimir Milošević, Partner, gave a welcome speech on behalf of Deloitte. Among many interesting presentations, three were held by Deloitte experts. John Nicholson and Ivica Krešić presented the Public-private Partnerships as a financing tool; John Winkler presented the results of a recent Regional Public Sector Performance survey, and Faruk Muratović held a presentation on the reduction of traffic congestion in cities. The conference was attended by members of local government and self-government, representatives from ministries, R&D organizations and government agencies, and attracted a great media attention. The event was covered by all major national and local TV and radio stations, newspapers and websites.
