Corporate social responsibility

Corporate social responsibility        Successes for a company can be measured in many different ways, including the opportunities they provide for their people to excel, the outstanding services that deliver measurable value to their clients and the contributions they make to the communities in which they work and live. To sustain trust and best serve our clients, integrity and quality are the foundation that defines the approach to the operation of member firm business and the delivery of multidisciplinary professional services to clients. Each of the nearly 150,000 people of the Deloitte member firms in more than 140 countries around the world are also committed to the Deloitte Shared Values and becoming the Standard of Excellence, which create a culture of trust across all of the member firms. Our approach to corporate responsibility is shaped by the recognition that, because we are a professional services organization, our impact on society comes in large part from the way we serve clients. Accordingly, we seek to achieve excellence and continuous improvement in three ways:

UN Global Compact

In July 2007 Deloitte in Croatia became a member of the  UN Global Compact, an initiative for improving ethical and environmental standards in business community around the globe.  The Global Compact is a framework for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption. As the world’s largest, global corporate citizenship initiative, the Global Compact is first and foremost concerned with exhibiting and building the social legitimacy of business and markets.

Deloitte has organized several internal actions in the area of environmental protection and gender equality, as a part of its Global Compact activities. In December 2007, Deloitte joined the humanitarian action, initiated by UN office in Croatia. In March 2008, Deloitte answered positively to call by the chairman of the foundation for Global Compact, helping with its donation the further financing of GC activities.
