EC amends list with products for which an additional duty of 15% is applicable on imports of products from the United States

DOWNLOAD

The European Commission has amended the list with products on which an additional duty of 15% is applicable for imports of certain products from the United States, the so called Byrd-Amendment. The United States failure to bring the Continued Dumping and Subsidy Offset Act in compliance with its obligations under the WTO agreements resulted in 2005 in an imposed 15% ad valorem additional duty on imports of certain products from the United States into the European Community. Since Regulation 673/2005 came into force, annex I, containing the list with products on which the 15% additional duties are applicable, was adjusted several times. In the latest adjustment, thirty products will be removed from this list as of May 1, 2011.
