Global leadership

Nick_MainNick Main, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) Global Leader, Sustainability & Climate Change, heads Deloitte member firms' efforts to help those firms' clients respond to the challenge of moving to a low-carbon economy and a sustainable future.

Main joined Deloitte in 1975 in London and was admitted as partner in New Zealand in 1985. He was appointed as chief executive officer of the New Zealand member firm from 2000 until 2005. He was then elected chairman of the New Zealand firm in 2005. He is now located in DTTL's London office, where he leads a network of Sustainability & Climate Change partners and staff at Deloitte member firms around the world.

Main has been involved in several high-profile institutions in New Zealand including: the New Zealand Business Council for Sustainable Development, which he chaired for three years; The New Zealand Institute; The Committee for Auckland; and the New Zealand Leadership Institute. Additionally, Main served on the Climate Change Leadership Forum (an advisory panel to government on the design of an Emissions Trading System).
