David Pearson will serve as the Global Leader of the Deloitte Sustainability IMO. In addition to his global IMO leader role, he is the Director of Internal Sustainability for DTTL, leads the Global Cleantech group, and is the Director for Smaller Member Firm HR.
From 2007 through 2011, David served as the CEO of Deloitte CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States). From 1999 to 2007, David held various executive positions in the CIS firm, including the leadership roles of the Audit and Enterprise Services group, Talent, and as Chief Operating Officer
David has more than 20 years of experience in public accounting and private industry. He joined Deloitte in Vancouver, Canada, in 1988 and has also worked with the U.S. member firm. He has extensive experience working with large Russian and multinational businesses in the telecommunications, consumer products, mining, and metallurgical industries. In addition to being a part of the leadership team that has grown the CIS business more than tenfold since 1999, David has been active working with clients as they seek success in developing markets or transforming themselves into efficient, well-run companies with a high level of corporate governance.
David is very active in the community, most recently as the Chairman of the Advisory Board for Downside Up, a Moscow-based charity supporting families with Down syndrome children. He has also been on the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia since 2008 and is currently Vice-Chairman and a member of the Executive Committee.
David holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Simon Fraser University. He is a certified public accountant in the United States and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Free time sees Pearson spending time with his wife and three children or playing ice hockey.
