Independent analyst firm names Deloitte a market leader in sustainable technology services |
New York, 19 January 2011 — In a new Green Quadrant® comparative evaluation of Sustainable Technology Services, independent analyst firm Verdantix named Deloitte as a market leader in this space, citing its ability to offer a wide, deep set of capabilities and an integrated and holistic set of sustainability services to clients.
“As regulatory pressures build and natural resources become ever more limited, clients look to Deloitte for guidance on how to incorporate sustainability into their business strategies and how to provide the information to manage their impacts and costs,” says Nick Main, Global Managing Director for Sustainability & Climate Change, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited. “This recognition seems to indicate that Deloitte services, Deloitte practitioners’ collective experience, and Deloitte strategy are on point with clients’ needs—to help them adapt and thrive in a reset world.”
According to Verdantix, Deloitte leads the market in energy and carbon management software, environmental product life-cycle assessment, and sustainability reporting services. Highlights from the Verdantix report Green Quadrant ®: Sustainable Technology Services 2011 include:

“The sustainable business market opportunity for technology services firms is in transition,” commented Verdantix Director David Metcalfe. “Our research found that large multinationals and city leaders want IT support for new initiatives such as electric vehicle infrastructure, offshore wind farms, and global carbon management systems. Firms with a broad portfolio of sustainability services, dedicated leadership, and domain expertise in sustainability are best positioned to deliver the integrated and holistic advice and implementation that these projects require.”
The providers analyzed in the study were chosen because they have annual aggregate revenues of more than US$1 billion, applied IT services to sustainability projects, and operations in at least 10 countries.
