With economic recovery expected to be slow going and organic growth opportunities somewhat limited, many companies are viewing mergers and acquisitions (M&A) as essential to achieving growth targets. A recent Deloitte Dbriefs Webcast survey revealed that nearly 45 percent of participants' companies are highly likely to, or definitely will, contemplate M&A in the next 12 to 18 months.
In this Deloitte Insights podcast, Tim Hanley hosts a discussion with Dan Schweller and Mark Walsh on the uptick in M&A activity and strategies for doing deals in the wake of the Great Recession. Tim is vice chairman and U.S. Process and Industrial Product sector leader for Deloitte and Touche LLP, Dan serves as U.S. and Global Manufacturing M&A leader for Deloitte and Touche LLP, and Mark is a principal with Deloitte Consulting LLP and the national leader of Deloitte's M&A Information Technology (IT) service segment.
