I love that my job facilitates getting real, substantiated answers to hard questions. No more estimation and opinion, which has been tolerated for so long. We are contributing to the evolution of best business practices. These insights can change the way people live their lives and governments manage portfolios, and how people and businesses direct their skills and efforts to provide better services to their customers, while simultaneously improving efficiencies and reducing environmental impact.
My work is multi-faceted. I primarily provide a dual role: On the one hand matching business needs with everything from acting CFO services to business analytics, and on the other hand, applying data analytics to forensic projects.
Coming from a mathematical and scientific background, I am always interested in analytical solutions and facilitating improvements to operational matters for clients. I initially gained experience conducting audits, and progressed to work on a broad range of cross-functional projects, always with an eye on finding ways to extract meaning from the numbers and adding value to the business or challenge at hand. The best ideas are not relevant unless they can be applied in practice.
My most memorable projects were working on the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited ‘As One’ strategy rollout and support for the Deloitte member firms in the Americas Region. Part of this experience included working with a team to lay the groundwork for formalizing the structure of Deloitte Analytics in the Americas Region.
Deloitte practitioners understand what it takes to put a good idea into practice, bridging the gap between an ideal and its implementation. This often involves applying analytical clarity to discover the truth of a matter, and not shying away from the hard questions one sometimes has to ask–and answer.
When I joined Deloitte Cayman Islands, I never expected that the Deloitte network would become a market leader in such an innovative field as Advanced Analytics with such broad application in the market.
