What I love about my job is that I’m able to combine aspects of my previous experience working in software, as a data provider, and using analytics in a business context. At Deloitte, we combine all three. It’s the combination of having the right data, doing the cool analytical work, and having the business knowledge available that helps us really provide value to our clients.
I’ve been in Analytics my entire career and see myself remaining in this field into the future. Currently I co-lead the Deloitte Analytics initiative in the Netherlands. In this role we are building new solutions and helping our colleagues give the best advice to clients by using state-of-the-art analytics practices and tools.
My most memorable project at Deloitte was a revenue assurance project we did for a large telecommunications client. We were asked to explain a significant drop in revenue in a very tight, two-week timeframe. We searched through all their data and found some long-term errors in their revenue recognition.
When I joined Deloitte I never expected there to be so many business issues that would benefit from the same analytical techniques.
