Deloitte rated global leader in Risk Consulting by analyst firm Hypatia Research Group

New York, 2 August 2012 - Analyst firm Hypatia Research Group rated the Deloitte network of member firms (Deloitte) as the leading risk consultancy in a recent report.

Hypatia published the findings in its trademarked Galaxy™ evaluations as presented in The Coming Convergence of Enterprise GRC: Why Management Consultancies Should Deliver a Holistic Approach. This 50+ page comparative evaluation of the governance, risk, compliance, and security consulting marketplace globally was based on buyer surveys and service provider interviews.

“In the past year alone Deloitte’s risk consulting practices have received more than a dozen highly favorable rankings from various analysts,” said Adel Melek, Managing Director, Global Enterprise Risk Services, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL). “We are pleased that this latest evaluation cites Deloitte’s ‘unparalleled’ breadth and depth in GRC, security, and IT risk consulting services.”

Commented Henry Ristuccia, Global Leader, Governance, Risk and Compliance Services, DTTL: “In an era of increasing regulation and complexity, Hypatia’s top ranking of Deloitte is testament to the global network’s staying power as a leading provider of end-to-end risk consulting services.”

Key findings and observations by the report’s author Leslie Ament, Hypatia Vice President and Senior Analyst, include:

  • “Deloitte takes a top-down and bottom-up approach to enterprise governance, risk, compliance and security offerings. True to its matrix-based, multi-service delivery model, an estimated 20,000 resources from the organization's robust enterprise risk, tax, and audit capabilities are part of this comprehensive offering.”
  • “Specifically among the Big Four, the Deloitte member firms' risk advisory and IT consulting services breadth and depth are unparalleled. As one of the only professional services organizations not to divest part of its consulting operation, it has been able to build on its lead instead of trying to play catch-up. Deloitte’s multidisciplinary business model effectively positions the organization to capture growth and build market share in this service line.”
  • “Deloitte, like many of the professional services organizations and consultancies we assessed, is agnostic in working with software vendors. However, the Deloitte global network differentiates itself by tightly integrating its proprietary Risk Intelligence methodology framework with various GRC solutions.”
