Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu wins Global Diversity Innovation AwardWorld Diversity Leadership Council recognizes Mass Career Customization program |
New York — 17 September 2009 — The World Diversity Leadership Council honored Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (DTT) and its member firms with the 2009 Global Diversity Innovation Award for DTT’s Mass Career Customization™ (MCC) program targeted at offering employees a structured approach to identifying career-life options. MCC is active in North America, Europe and Asia.
“Mass Career Customization contributes to Deloitte’s commitment to diversity by creating an open culture that provides opportunities for our people to have a good deal of choice in where, when, and how they work,” said Jim Wall, Global Managing Director, Talent, Chief Diversity Officer, DTT.
“Our people, over the course of their careers, are going to have different professional goals and work-life needs. Acknowledging that, supporting people’s choices, and matching their work-life demands with the needs of the organization can help to ensure their success and deliver business benefits. We are honored to receive the 2009 Global Diversity Innovation Award for the implementation of Mass Career Customization in Deloitte U.S., France, the Netherlands, and India.”
Since its inception in 2007, MCC has represented a “career lattice” (in contrast to a career ladder) model that enables employees and employers a collaborative setting to design a customized career path that is mutually beneficial for the changing needs of both the individual and organization.
MCC has been rolled out to approximately 45,000 employees across the United States with positive results including improved career-life fit and retention. Deloitte France saw a rise in work force retention and motivation, while offices in India discovered participants want to advance their career paths. Moreover, Deloitte Netherlands applied MCC throughout its 5,500 employ to boost overall engagement, improve coaching, and increase career-life options.
Deloitte received the 2009 Global Diversity Innovation Award on 17 September during the World Diversity Leadership Summit (WDLS) in Washington, D.C. Seven organizations were honored for diversity innovation including: the British Embassy Foreign & Commonwealth Office; Royal Norwegian Embassy; United Nations Global Compact; and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. The World Diversity Leadership Council acts as the award selection body and represents Fortune 1000 corporate experts. The WDLS is a forum that addresses challenges and opportunities related to global diversity management.
