Meet Manoj Singh |
Manoj Singh is Chief Operating Officer of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL). Singh previously served as Global Managing Director, Operations, for DTTL. In his previous role, Singh was one of the five global managing directors reporting to the global CEO. With overall responsibility for global operations, including strategy, finance, knowledge management, information technology, human resources, and legal, Singh focused on driving Deloitte investments around the world, leading global strategy and business planning, addressing operating performance challenges, and was especially involved in high-growth countries and emerging markets.
Prior to this, Singh led Deloitte Consulting in North and South America as Managing Director, Americas, until 2003. Deloitte Consulting was consistently rated one of the best consulting practices in North America by analysts like Gartner and IDC, and was considered a top workplace for students and women by leading business schools in the United States and Fortune magazine. In 2003, Singh was recognized as one of the Top 25 Consultants in the United States by Consulting Magazine. He has extensive management consulting experience in advising national and multinational companies on mergers and acquisitions and shareholder value growth, with a specific focus on technology, manufacturing, and the energy industry.
With a strong track record for growing the Americas’ consulting practice, Singh was appointed Asia Pacific CEO of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu in 2003, a role he held until 2007. The Asia Pacific region is the fastest-growing region in the organization, and includes 13 countries with more than 35,000 professionals. Singh had responsibility for all four business lines–audit, tax, consulting, and financial advisory services. His most significant accomplishment was taking Deloitte China and Deloitte India to new levels of prominence in the market. During those four years, Deloitte China tripled in size to 8,000 professionals, and Deloitte’s presence in India grew to 10,000 professionals.
Recognized for his knowledge and insights on doing business in China and India, the Asia Pacific business and economic environment, operations excellence, and leadership, Singh has appeared on CNBC, the BBC, in other print and TV media, and presented at regional World Economic Forum events. He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Carnegie Mellon University and is also on the Board of the U.S.-India Business Council. A recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award from IIT Kanpur, Singh is a frequent speaker on college campuses.
Singh is a certified management consultant and has a BS in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University in the United States.
