Daniel T. Schweller serves as the Global Steel Industry Merger & Acquisition (M&A) leader and the U.S. Manufacturing Mergers & Acquisitions leader for Deloitte & Touche LLP. Since 1983, Dan has gained experience serving the business and accounting needs of acquisitive entities. His practice focuses on providing M&A due diligence, structuring and accounting assistance to significant corporate and private equity investor clients. Dan also advises corporate sellers on transaction-related matters to assist them in preparing for buyer due diligence teams.
Dan focuses on business and accounting matters related to business combinations, recapitalizations, joint ventures and significant investment and carve-out transactions. He has significant knowledge in working synergistically with clients and their advisors to identify business risks and opportunities and to assist in creating structural and contractual solutions to address these matters.
Dan has a wealth of experience leading cross-border transactions, having been involved with some of the most significant transactions in the steel industry, working closely with domestic and international teams to address and articulate accounting and structuring considerations and reporting ramifications related to Securities and Exchange Commission, U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Financial Reporting Standards requirements.
