Leading Organisation for the Advancement of Women
In November 2008 Deloitte were presented with an award by the Federal Government’s Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA) as Australia’s Leading Organisation for the Advancement of Women (500+ employees).
This award is recognition that Deloitte have sought an active role in setting new standards for women’s leadership and development in corporate Australia and internationally. Our program is not a one-off project but a sustained, firm wide objective which makes real business sense.
For many years, the Inspiring Women initiative has been a priority for our CEO who is dedicated to the advancement of women. Giam Swiegers says, “We are very proud of the fact that the judges referred to our ‘innovative approach’ towards our Inspiring Women initiative. At Deloitte we encourage innovation in everything we do.
“We are truly delighted to win this award as it recognises our aim, to celebrate differences in our people at all times and empower them to challenge, change and improve the way we work. Our program is not about experimenting with the latest fad but is about sustained performance.”

This award comes after many years of sustained focus and commitment to recruiting and retaining talented women at Deloitte. This will be the seventh year running that Deloitte has been seen as an Employer of Choice for Women by EOWA – but the first time we’ve won the coveted top prize!
