Kimiaki Kimura, a Director for Deloitte Research, is leading the group's newly established research capabilities in Japan. He specializes in strategic issues facing Japanese companies and multinational corporations operating in Japan. Recently he has focused on the financial services industry and has extensive knowledge in the consumer business, communications, and energy sectors as well. Mr. Kimura is currently engaged in projects involving corporate restructuring, value-building growth, economic value management, and transformational outsourcing. He teams with academics, technology experts, economists, lawyers, and other thought leaders on these and other initiatives. Mr. Kimura has published several books on Japan's financial revolution and new business models. He has written articles in leading industry journals, has led seminars for corporate executives on such issues as customer strategy, cost reduction, economic value, M&A, and risk management. He has also taught management courses for the Japan Productivity Center. Prior to joining Deloitte Research, Mr. Kimura worked for more than a decade with Mitsubishi Research Institute where he held the position of Research Director, Financial Institutions Consulting Practices. In this role he provided strategic consulting to a broad range of clients including money center banks, regional banks, insurance companies, asset management firms, consumer financing companies, and private equity firms. Mr. Kimura holds a B.A. in Economics from Keio University and M.B.A. from London Business School. |
