Unsurprisingly for companies who often have high energy and especially water use, 80% of respondents in the food and beverage sector say energy and resource management will be challenging in the next two years, and 67% think commodity prices will be a significant risk. These companies are making a strong push on sustainability reporting—40% now integrate information on sustainability into financial reports and 40% will do so in the next two years. Their end buyers are clearly exerting pressure on these businesses to become more sustainable: 94% of food and beverage CFOs say it's important to communicate sustainability info to customers.
