Tax Risk Management: From Risk to Opportunity coverEdited by Anuschka Bakker and Sander Kloosterhof (Deloitte Netherlands)

Volatile market conditions and a number of major high-profile corporate failures have propelled tax risk management to the forefront of most corporate agendas. At the same time, the risk profile associated with taxation has become more evident, as regulatory authorities worldwide require stricter compliance with existing laws and demands for greater transparency and accountability have resulted in a proliferation of new rules. In this atmosphere of heightened sensitivity to corporate responsibility, corporate tax departments find themselves increasingly called upon both to document their risk processes formally and to assess their tax risk exposure accurately.

Against this background, the IBFD recently published a new book, Tax Risk Management: From Risk to Opportunity, to provide a practical guide to the current—and changing—corporate environment in 12 countries. Based on the strength of our experience in this area, Deloitte was invited to make a major contribution to this book.

The book was co-edited by Sander Kloosterhof from the Deloitte Netherlands practice and country chapters were written by Deloitte professionals from Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States:
