The public’s appetite for smartphones shows no sign of slowing down and the demand for data passing through wi-fi hotspots is set to outstrip the amount of traffic carried over mobile networks. And, although mobile networks will remain more suited for users who need to access data securely, or when actually moving, wi-fi is set to become the default network for video applications. But the battle between the two wireless technologies need not be a zero-sum game if the providers work together to provide a customer with a seamless experience.

Highlights:

  • How significantly will the volume of data uploaded or downloaded from portable devices via Wi-Fi when outside of home or office grow?
