The Future of the Life Sciences IndustriesA Deloitte white paper in collaboration with the Economist Intelligence Unit |
Publish date:
Life Sciences is a strategic industry undergoing significant change. How will it be transformed over the next 10 years? Will pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical device companies continue to consolidate? Will profits grow? What qualities will be needed in a Life Sciences CEO in 10 years' time?
Deloitte, in collaboration with the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), has released a white paper on the issues and implications facing the industry, "The future of the life sciences industries." The white paper addresses impeding industry consolidation and convergence, divergence of pharma and biotech futures, expansion of the Asian life sciences markets, the growing importance and difficulty of innovation, the decline in industry reputation and its effects, and globalization.
The white paper was based upon an online survey completed by 206 senior industry executives from around the world, in-depth interviews with life sciences executives, and an executive forum that brought leaders together to discuss survey and interview results. The white paper includes research and observations on the strategic priorities over the next 10 years, where the main challenges lie and how executives intend to seize opportunities.
