Recent developments in the financial markets have tested the capabilities of risk management across the financial services industry. Against this backdrop, Deloitte conducted its sixth biannual Global Risk Management Survey of risk management practices across the industry, receiving responses from over 100 financial institutions around the world, with aggregate assets of more than US$19 trillion.
The survey finds that financial institutions continue to have significant opportunities to strengthen their risk management processes and tools. The report provides insights on:

- Enterprise risk management
- Basel II
- Management of key risks, including credit, market, liquidity and operational
- Risk management systems and technology infrastructure
